October 9, 2020. State Nuclear Power Inspectorate (VATESI) received information from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus (MES) about the issuance of permit for physical experiments at low power of the power reactor Unit 1 in Belarusian NPP.
This information was forwarded to Lithuanian competent authorities.
In the letter dated 23th of September VATESI asked MES to clarify all what kind of safety documentation shall license holder submit at each commissioning stage in order to obtain special permission (license) from MES and what is the timeframe for regulatory body to produce a precise and comprehensive review and assessment before issuing such authorizations.
