VATESI shared its good practice with the group of representatives from Georgia‘s law enforcement and specialized institutions that are responsible for the implementation of the nuclear security regime. Meeting at VATESI was a part of the seminar “Main Elements of the Nuclear Security” which took place on the 9 – 13 November and was organized by the Lithuanian Nuclear Security Centre of Excellence.
Participants of the seminar were acquainted with the activities of VATESI in the field of nuclear security, including regulation and supervision of the physical security of nuclear materials and nuclear energy facilities in Lithuania and evaluation of the design basis threat to nuclear materials and nuclear energy facilities. Guests also visited Extreme Situations' Operation Centre of VATESI.
Cooperation between VATESI and Nuclear Security Centre of Excellence started in 2012. VATESI specialists participate in various trainings and workshops organized by this Center and share good practice with competent institutions of Lithuania and foreign countries.
