On the March 29, 2012, Deputy Head of VATESI Michail Demčenko was appointed to be Head of VATESI for the six year term by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Lithuania.
Michail Demčenko has a diploma of engineer-physicist and 31 years of professional expertise in the area of nuclear power. He works in VATESI practically from its very founding in 1991. Since July 2009 Michail Demčenko was Acting Head of VATESI.
