Lighting the candles of unity, remembrance and victory

In the morning of 12 January 2024, the employees of the State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate honored the memory of those who lost their lives for the freedom of Lithuania by joining the civic initiative "Light of Victory".

We lit candles of unity and remembrance in the windows of our homes and offices, and after turning off the lights for ten minutes, we remembered how the people of our country achieved a historic victory and defended the independence of the restored State of Lithuania in January 1991, and how our freedom has grown during that time.

Freedom Defenders’ Day commemorates those who lost their lives on January 13, 1991 in Vilnius when Soviet troops attempted to seize the Vilnius TV tower and the Lithuanian Radio and Television building.
