Stakeholders are invited to submit proposals for the fire safety assessment under the thematic chapters of the reports until 9 February 2024, link is here: EUSurvey - Survey (europa.eu).

The reports and more detailed information on TPR-II consultation are available here: Country specific reports TPR 2 | ENSREG and TPR 2 public engagement | ENSREG.

The aim of the peer review process is to identify areas for improvement and to plan and implement safety improvement measures, thus contributing to raising the level of safety in Europe's operating nuclear installations.

According to the provisions of the Nuclear Safety Directive, thematic safety assessments take place every six years. Initiation for the peer review process and preparation of relevant documents started in 2020 and in 2021 decision was made to examine the fire protection topic and organize peer review process for nuclear power plants, enrichment plants, research reactors, spent fuel storage facilities and storage facilities for radioactive waste that are on the same site and directly related to the nuclear installations. The review of the national reports is scheduled to be completed by mid-2024, followed by recommendations for safety improvements to be made by the end of the year and described in each country's review report. After reviewing these recommendations, in 2025 countries will start to develop and implement safety improvement measures.
